First up you’re going to need a whole lot of these resealable jars.

 

 

 

 

Here’s what we’re making today:

  1.  Apple puree / stewed apples
  2.  Apple Crisps
  3.  Apple jelly
  4.  Apple- Plum Jam
  5.  Ideas



Stewed apples:

What you need:

  • 15 apples
  • water
  1. peel
  2. cut the core
  3. cut into small pieces
  4. put in big pot with 50ml of water
  5. let in come to a boil
  6. let simmer for 30 minutes
  7. stir every now and again
  8. put into resealable glasses and turn them upside down
  9. let cool

the ”waste” from the left pot is what we’re using to make jelly



Crisps:

What you need:

  • apple peel of apples you’re using for the stewed apples
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  1. cut the peel into 5cm long strips
  2. put the strips into a resealable jars and add sugar and cinnamon
  3. shake it

  1. -the container, Cam.
  2. spread evenly onto baking tray, lined with baking paper
  3. bake at 150C for 20 minutes (or until they are crisp and not black)

Apple jelly:

What you need:

  • 4 cups leftovers like core or peel….
  • 5 cups water
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  1. Let the leftovers simmer in water for 20 minutes
  2. pour through a sieve (should make 2 cups of liquid)
  3. mix liquid with sugar and lemon juice
  4. bring to a boil while stiring
  5. pour into sealable jars
  6. let cool

all that’s left over.

Apple ε plum jam:

What you need:

  • 500g apples
  • 500g plums
  • 500g sugar
  1. cut the apples, you can leave the peel
  2. stone the plums
  3. put in a pot with a little waer and let simmer until everything is soft
  4. put in a blender; blend
  5. pour through a sieve (I left in some bigger pieces)
  6. put back in pot with sugar
  7. let it come to a boil
  8. pour into jars
  9. turn jars upside down
  10. let cool

ideas:

There are probably a trillion different things you can add the products or just simply the fruits to your breakfast but this is what I did. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s all porridge related.

  1. add some of the jam on top of your porridge
  2. add apples to the oats while heating them up, then put cinnamon and plums on top
  3. spread cream cheese onto whole grain bread, add jam or jelly
  4. make hash browns; eat with stewed apples
  5. binge watch modern family while eating crisps
