So let’s get you up to date shall we? On the 29th of April (holy crap that’s 2 weeks ago?) my mom finally made it to Brighton, so I picked her up at the station and we walked back down to my lil room and she got a first glimpse of how beautiful Brighton is. She really liked it as well and keeps talking about how cool it is. We picked up my 2 jam- packed suitcases that my mom was sure were over 20kg! We checked in at the hotel after walking there along the beach. In my case I wasn’t so much walking as I was half beating up, my previously purchased Primark suitcase, and half tripping because it was stuck somewhere.
When we got to the hotel a waterfall of sweat ran across my face, so first thing on the list was to go to Sainsbury’s. Our view from the hotel room was not the sea – obviously- but old steine which can be nice as well I guess. In the evening we just had a little stroll around Brighton and ended up at Pizza express, where I had the pizza with the egg on it? Absolutely delicious, so delicious I had it again a few days later.
We payed for 2 nights in that hotel and how many nights did I sleep there. Zero. Sorry mom. I took one nap tho. And by the way do not stay at the Albion Hotel! There’s no wifi!
Next day we took the train to Lewes because I wanted to show her that beautiful little town. I was raining so much – literally never seen that much rain before! So we basically rain from the hotel to the station, from the station to Bill’s, where we had breakfast. It was delissshhh. So we sat there for quite a long time cause it was very cozy while it was pouting it down with rain outside. After about about 12 we left and had a little look around all the cute little shops, which my mom also very much loved. We went back in the afternoon. I was very tired so I had a little nap while my mom went down to the pier in the rain and tried her luck at the arcade. She really wanted to get a stuffed animal in form of a little pug and at one point the machine hand thing even grapped the head of one but let it go again. I had my leftover pizza for dinner which was still as good if not even better.
When I woke up the next day it was beautiful weather and the sun was peaking through the blinds. I was in the best mood immediately and had a little walk through the Lanes on my way to the hotel. Got a little coffee and had a really chilled morning. The plan was to go up to London after breakfast. Didn’t happen. I finally got to show my mom a beautiful side of Brighton so we strolled through the Lanes which looked beautiful because they had put up the little garlands for Brighton Fringe. We ended up having breakfast at waikikamookau which I was very happy about. I had avo on toast with poached eggs (obviously?). Afterwards we walked through the North Laines and going London was pushed back further and further.
Then it happened. We passed the tattoo place my favorite artist works at and I was like “oh can I go in?” I had 2 tattoos in mind but I didn’t think they’d have an appointment on such short notice and expected them to tell me to come back on Friday evening to get a teeny tiny one. Nope. Wrong. They had a guest artist who was free and who also told me to send him the designs and come back in an hour.
This is all for this post because my friends from germany were on their way down to Brighton and my mom went to London by herself – sorry mom- I think she was a little pissed that I made her go alone.
So anyway the next part is not mom in Brighton anymore and deserves a new title.
We also had to go to WHSmith to send some parcels of 8 and 2 kg with all the stuff I couldn’t fit into my suitcases, which turned out to be 17 and 19 kg!!! what did I buy?!
